A natural path to restoring balance

At Oxford Healthcare Retreat we offer gentle, evidence-informed practices that support deep healing and emotional well-being. One of the most supportive methods for many guests is Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises, often called TRE. This calming practice helps the body let go of stress, tension and trauma in a natural and steady way.

What Is TRE?

TRE is a series of simple therapeutic movements that activate the body’s built-in ability to release stress and muscular tightness. The body often stores difficult experiences physically. These can come from ongoing pressure, long periods of worry or a major life event. TRE uses a natural reflex known as neurogenic tremors. This gentle shaking helps dissolve stored tension layer by layer.

Once you have learned TRE with a trained provider you can continue the practice safely at home. This gives you a long-term tool that supports calm and balance.

A natural release the body already understands

In nature, animals shake after stress and then return to a settled state. Humans share this same biological response, yet many of us have learned to hold it back. TRE brings this natural release back in a safe and supported way.

The process involves light movements that work mainly with the legs, hips and pelvis. These movements guide the body into a state where tremoring can begin. The tremors are gentle. They are the nervous system’s way of releasing pressure and restoring balance.

You remain fully in control at all times. You can pause or stop whenever you need to. The body leads and you follow its signals.

The Benefits of TRE

TRE is suitable for many people. You do not need to be facing major trauma to benefit. Guests often turn to TRE for support with:

  • Daily stress that builds up over time
  • Anxiety and emotional strain
  • Deep relaxation and improved resilience
  • Better sleep and improved energy
  • Support for physical and emotional release

Over time many people feel calmer and more centred. They often describe an improved ability to cope with life’s pressures. TRE supports both the mind and the physical body, which is why the results can feel steady and meaningful.

Meet our TRE Provider: Beverly Feldman

At Oxford Healthcare Retreat, TRE sessions are facilitated by Beverly Feldman, a registered and highly skilled TRE Provider. Beverly brings both professional expertise and a compassionate  presence, guiding guests through the practice with sensitivity and care.

Under her guidance, participants develop the confidence and understanding they need to continue TRE safely on their own if they choose.

Why TRE Is Different

One of the aspects people appreciate most about TRE is that it doesn’t require talking about painful memories or revisiting distressing events. This makes TRE unique among many stress and trauma-focused approaches.

Instead of focusing on the story, TRE focuses on the body’s natural release.

It complements therapy, medical care, and other wellness interventions beautifully, offering a  somatic approach that supports emotional wellbeing from the inside out.

TRE is not a replacement for psychological or medical treatment. Rather, it is an additional resource, a supportive tool that helps restore balance, calm, and resilience.

Learning to Trust the Body Again

At its heart, TRE is about reconnecting with the body’s own wisdom. As we learn to trust that the body knows how to release what it no longer needs, a profound sense of empowerment and calm emerges.

Many guests find that TRE becomes a grounding practice that brings steady relief and a renewed sense of confidence in daily life.

If you would like to experience TRE in a calm and supportive setting, our team can guide you through the process. Contact us to learn more or to book a session.
