Dr Lolita Mostert obtained her MBChB degree in 2003 from the University of Stellenbosch.
She completed her internship and community service years in the Eastern and Western
Cape.  She then practised in emergency medicine before specialising in Psychiatry through WITS. During her specialisation, she worked at the Sterkfontein Hospital Psychiatric Forensic Unit, as well as Tara Hospital Psychotherapy Unit. She managed patients with personality disorders, poor coping skills, depression, anxiety and self-harming behaviour. She also worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital Dual Diagnosis Clinic, where she was involved in treating and managing the complexities of substance abuse, rehabilitation and co-morbidity of psychiatric disorders.  Dr Mostert then went on to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Tara’s Acute Biological Unit, where she gained experience in treating Depression, Bipolar disorder, Post-Partum Psychopathology and Schizophrenia.  For the past 4 years she has worked in the private sector and gained extensive experience in neurocognitive problems such as Dementia Disorders. She believes working in a multi-disciplinary team is of the utmost importance.
