The science of stress management and it's benefits..

As November unfolds, we'd like to unpack the daily stress we all face and its effects on our well-being. Stress isn't just a mental state; it has a scientific side too.
Studies show that stress can impact us physically, from our immune system to our hearts and even our minds. In the realm of mental health, chronic stress has been linked to anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairments. The constant release of stress hormones can alter brain structures and connectivity, impacting memory, focus, and emotional regulation. But the good news is, we've got science-backed strategies to help you find your balance again with practical ways to lower it.
Chill with Mindfulness: Try simple mindfulness and meditation to calm your nerves.
Get Moving: Embrace some exercise to get those happy hormones flowing.
Eat Well: Nourish your body with a balanced diet and it'll thank you by handling stress better.
Sweet Dreams: Prioritise good sleep, your secret stress-buster.
Connect: Lean on your friends and family for support - social connections can do wonders.
Time Smart: Manage your day efficiently and suddenly stress becomes more manageable.
Breathe Easy: Deep breaths can soothe the nerves and reduce stress.

Our Retreat packages offer you an option to disengage from your daily stressors for a period of time and reset you autonomic nervous system. Self-care is no longer a luxury but an absolute priority!

Explore our packages options below.
Having given our grounds some attention and care, our gardens have gifted us with the a gorgeous spring display of colour and blooms this year. After a long, cold winter of looking slightly barren and bare, turns out it was well worth the wait!
At the Oxford Healthcare Retreat, our therapeutic goal is to enhance your sense of overall well-being, facilitate an informed understanding of the way your mind and body interact, and provide a set of skilled based interventions to develop, secure and maintain optimal healthy functioning.

Exercise and movement therapy form part of our sensory therapies.
Physical activity has a remarkable impact on our overall well-being. When we exercise, our bodies release endorphins, the feel-good hormones that can instantly elevate our mood and reduce stress. Whether it's a brisk walk, a yoga session, or hitting the gym, any form of movement can be a powerful stress-reliever. Plus, it's not just about the immediate benefits; regular exercise also contributes to long-term stress resilience, helping us better cope with life's challenges.

When you Retreat with us, you'll have the option of either joining a twice weekly yoga or qi gong class, enjoying a gentle guided walk or an arranged private session with our professional instructors in a variety of exercise modalities on offer.
